Why did Pawan choose Anantapur?

Actor and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan finally revealed that he would contest as MLA in 2019 elections. Addressing the mammoth gathering in Anatapur, the Jana Sena chief said ” I will set up my first Jana Sena office in Anantapur. I will contest as MLA in 2019 polls. I will work for the people regardless of winning or losing.”

Criticizing the Central Government on the issue of Special Status, Pawan said that the Government has not offered anything extra what should be given to us. ” Venkiah Naidu garu always says the Centre sanctioned a good special package. Though the Special Status was not accorded, some leaders were projected as heroes. Some attended even felicitation ceremonies,” Pawan said.

Special Status may be a closed chapter for the Central leaders but it’s Amrut for the drought-hit Anantapur. He questioned the State Government as to why it failed to take measures to address drought situation in Anatapur if it is really committed. ” I’m ready to take the farmers of Rayalaseema in a special train to bring the Centre’s notice about Anantapur’s plight,” he said and added that he is not against any political party.

He also questioned Chandrababu that how could he welcome the Special package when there is noting special in it. “I don’t have personal rivalry against Chandrababu or YS Jagan. I would become your enemy if you don’t keep your promises,” he asserted.

He also advised the State Government to treat people of all regions equally. ” I have sought PM’s appointment to raise injustice done to AP but I am yet to get the appointment.”
