Comeback for Congress under Rahul Gandhi

It was time for a full circle. The BJP under Narendra Modi and Amit Shah was an invincible electoral machine that never failed. But that was till yesterday. On 11.12.2018, Tuesday the BJP was defeated in the Hindi heartland- it was found mortal. The Congress party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi won Chattisgarh with a record number of 68 seats of the total 90 and effectively evicted Vasundhara Raje’s government in Rajasthan, with more than a 100 majority in 199 seats and are at present giving a tough fight to BJP in Madhya Pradesh.

Late in the evening, Rahul Gandhi thanked the Congress workers for the heartening results  in 3 states and promised that  his party is going to provide these states a vision and governments that they can be proud of. He also put down the reason for BJP’s failure to its inability in delivering jobs, lack of any visible welfare for farmers and agriculture and  added, “I want to express my gratitude to the chief ministers who worked for the people. We did have a face-off with them as opposition and we will take their work forward. We now have lot of work to do in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and hopefully Madhya Pradesh.”

He also added that he had expected better performance in Telangana but  it was okay. Expressing optimistic outcome for the Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi said that they will defeat the BJP in 2019 too but the Congress does not want to erase anyone from the face of the earth.
