The Telangana Rashtriya party with K.Chandrashekar Rao in the leadership looks set to win a landslide victory in Telangana, beating the combined opposition (People’s Front or Prajakutami) of Congress, TDP and CPI to a pulp. It is now leading in nearly 90 of the 119 Assembly seats.
KCR himself looks set to win in Gajwel, his son K.T.Rama Rao in Sircilla, while his nephew Harish Rao has won in Siddhipet with a resounding majority of more than one lakh votes. The TRS has the support of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen or MIM led by Asaduddin Owaisi is leading in 4 constituencies.
The Congress is leading in less than 20 constituencies. Its candidates like Revanth Reddy, Jana Reddy, DK Aruna, Damodar and many more losing their respective constituencies
Celebrations have started in the TRS camp even as news of victories are trickling in. There are also rumours that KCR will be sworn in as Chief Minister tomorrow.
