He must have done several stories and conducted several debates about the politicians who rush to the court when cases are booked against them. He must have joked at their expense. Today, former TV9 CEO Ravi Prakash is doing just that.
He was shocked on Wednesday when the courts refused to hear his bail plea on an emergency basis. He approached the division bench comprising chief justice RS Chouhan and justice Shameem Akhter claiming that false cases were registered against him and that he could be put behind the bars.
But, the court refused to entertain Ravi Prakash’s plea. It said the vacation bench will not hear the case and that Ravi Prakash will have to wait till the regular court begins to function in June.
Ravi Prakash is accused of forgery and fund diversion from the TV 9. The Alanda Media, which now owns 92 per cent of the shares in the ABCL Pvt Ltd,has removed Ravi Prakash from the post of the CEO of TV 9 recently.
