West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is emerging as the most vocal leader against the ruling BJP and PM Modi in the wake of the violence unleashed in W. Bengal after the road show by BJP President Amit Shah.
The unprecedented action of the Election Commission in the wake of the violence which also led to the vandalizing of Vidyasagar statue, by curbing campaigning by 24 hours by invoking Article 324 for the first timein electoral history, but allowing the same till 10 pm today, May 16th, thus allowing the PM time to complete his 2 rallies in Bengal has also forced the Opposition to unconditionally support Mamata and condemn the BJP’s muscular tactics in Bengal.
The BSP Chief, Mayawati questioned the EC and BJP’s action. “Election Commission has banned campaigning in West Bengal, but from 10 pm today just because PM has two rallies in the day. If they had to ban then why not from today morning? This is unfair and EC is acting under pressure.”
SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav, DMK leader Stalin, Congress and AAP all came in support of Mamata Banerjee who also thanked them for their support.
