Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has convened his first cabinet meeting on Monday. He took several key decisions during the meeting.
YS Jagan has already signed three files relating to enhancement of salaries of Asha workers to Rs 10,000, construction of Anantapur Express Highway and renewal of insurance for journalists. The Cabinet meeting was held at the first Block in the Secretariat from 10.30 am.
As per the Chief Minister’s directives the agenda is based on eight important aspects. The first one which is on priority is the Rythu Bharosa Scheme which will directly benefit the farmers to a tune of Rs 10, 625 crores as each farmer will get Rs 12,500 as incentive and tenant farmers would get Rs 2,500 crore under the scheme. The scheme was due to be implemented from May 2020, the start of khariff season, but after a review meeting the Chief Minister has announced that it would be rolled from the Rabi season itself which starts from October 15.
Pension and allowances for the senior citizens (YSR Pension Scheme from July) along with widows, weavers and fisherman will get a monthly allowance of Rs 2,250. The differently-abled will get a monthly allowance of Rs 3,000. For patients undergoing dialysis the allowance has been increased from Rs 3,500 to Rs 10,000.
