Haryana has a strange political tradition. Many of the former chief ministers in Haryana have formed parties of their own and played a significant role in splitting parties, partnering governments and playing spoilsports. Devilal did it. Bhajan Lal did it. Bansilal did it and even Rao Birender Singh did it. Is former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda too going to do the same?
There is a buzz that Hooda is upset with the Congress High Command and is all set to form a new party in Haryana. He and his son Dipinder Singh Hooda are upset and angry with the Congress high command for ignoring them. Both the Hoodas want the Congress high command to remove Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Ashok Tanwar. But, the high command has put their demand on the back burner.
The Hoodas have considerable clout in several parts of Haryana and still command the respect of the workers. Thus, they are said to be mulling forming a separate party. If this happens, the Congress vote will be further split and this would actually benefit the BJP.
