Congress gets big shock in Karnataka

As the bypolls for the 17 assembly constituencies are round the corner, the Congress Party in Karnataka is suffering shock after shock. Several key leaders are queuing up to leave the party and join the BJP.

The latest leader to administer shock to the Congress Party is mining baron Anil Lad. A former MLA and a former MP, Lad is one of the most influential leader from Bellari and is one of the kingpins of iron ore mining. He has been with the Congress for quite some time.

However, he is said to be disillusioned with the Congress Party’s falling clout in Karnataka. He is said to be upset with the internal bickering in the party and the rampant groupism. He feels that the Congress has no future in the state.

Anil, who is closely related to the Reddy, is said to have approached the BJP national leadership with their help and has expressed his desire to join the BJP.

If the sources are to be believed, Lad is likely to join the BJP on October 5 or 6 in the presence of national leaders of the BJP. This will be a huge jolt for the Congress as it will become leaderless in Bellari district.
