Opposition divided in Huzurnagar?

Desperate for a victory in Huzurnagar assembly constituency bypoll, the TRS appears to be pulling all stops. It is trying every trick in the trade to keep the Opposition divided.

If highly placed sources in the TRS are to be believed, it has succeeded in dividing the opposition in Huzurnagar.

As part of its efforts, the TDP and the CPM are now putting up candidates in the constituency. These candidates are meant mainly to divide the votes.

The TDP and the CPM are not part of the Opposition Unity efforts. While the CPI and Kodandaram’s TJS have supported the Congress Party, these two parties have decided to put up their own candidates.

While both the parties are not really strong, they can help divide votes and demoralise the Congress. The constituency has considerable settler population so the TDP could cut into those votes.

On Saturday, Chandrababu Naidu has held discussions with the leaders from Telangana and decided to put up a candidate. Sources say one of the two leaders – Kiranmayi or Narsireddy could be made the party candidate. The CPM has already announced its candidate for the bypoll.
