If one politician is on a self-destruction mode, then it is undoubtedly Bhuma Akhilapriya. Though she hails from a very powerful and influential political family known for its deft political moves and acumen, she has been making one hasty move after another and is ending up with disastrous results.
She and her father Bhuma Nagireddy have resigned from the YSRCP, on whose ticket they have won, and joined the TDP. Later, Akhilapriya was made a minister and she launched several vitriolic attacks on both YS Jagan and the YSRCP. Some of her comments against YS Jagan were very demeaning.
Then came the comeuppance. She lost the 2019 assembly elections. Soon after losing to the ySRCP, she began signing praises of YS Jagan and gave many indications of her desire to come back to the YSRCP.
Jagan told her to wait for the right time. So impatient was she that she immediately opened a channel of communication with the BJP. She approached the BJP leaders through Sujana Chowdary. But, the BJP too wanted her to wait.
Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu planned Chalo Atmakur protest. Akhilapriya, who was not even remotely connected to Palnadu region, took the plunge and took a very active part in the protest rally. Now neither BJP nor the YSRCP would be interested in taking her into their party given her active role in the TDP protest. If this is not self-destruction, then what is?
