YSRCP senior leader and Government Chief Whip Gadikota Srikanth Reddy strongly felt that Rayachoti has all the qualifications to be declared as a district. He said this move would fulfil the administrative convenience and the aspirational needs of the people of the region.
He said that Rayachoti is centrally located and is easily accessible to 18 mandals. He said a special committee has already been set up to study the feasibility and he said he would definitely take the issue to the notice of Chief Minister YS Jagan.
He said in the event of Rayachoti not being made a separate district, it’s interests would be better served if it is in Kadapa.
Srikanth Reddy further said that he had in fact suggested to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that every parliamentary constituency should be developed into a separate district. This would improve accessibility and develop a positive connect with the people. He further said that more districts would mean more funds from the Central Government. He said even YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is supportive of this idea.
He however, called upon the people not to incite passions. He said the issue should be resolved in a cordial and peaceful manner. He said that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was all for according greater importance to backward areas. Rayachoti will develp exponentially if it is made into a separate district.
