Parliament becomes a fortress to fight Covid

The staff at the parliament secretariat are taking every precaution while holding the sessions in times of Covid. All the MPs of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha will have to undergo the RT-PCR test done in their constituency before travelling to Delhi.

Soon after coming to Delhi, they will have to undergo another test at least 72 hours before the commencement of the session. In addition, all the MPs have been asked to take the antigen test also. The MPs can attend only if they test negative. In the event of testing positive, they will have to undergo home isolation for 14 days.

The MPs would be given a Covid kit prepared by the DRDO. The kit will have 40 essential items, including three ply masks, five N 95 masks, 20 bttles of sanitisers, five face shields and herbal sanitisation wipes.

Already over 10 MPs have sent written communications to the Speaker requesting that they be excused in view of their home isolation. They have all tested positive for Covid 19. The sessions began on September 14.
