Will Nara Brahmani, the charismatic industrialist daughter of actor-MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna, enter active politics? There has always been a speculation about Brahmani, who is quite articulate and efficient as a leader, that she would enter politics. Those who have watched her press conferences and public outings always felt that she is a politician material.
Now it turns out that Chandrababu Naidu is mulling bringing Brahmani, his daughter-in-law, as the president of the Telangana TDP. The T TDP is almost moribund and non-functional. The current president, LV Ramana, is inactive and is not venturing out of his burrough. For months, there has been no meeting nor any programme of the party. Recently, several TDP leaders from Telangana have sought a replacement for Ramana, who has been in the position for over six years.
So, Chandrababu is said to be mulling over bringing Brahmani into politics and hand her over the responsibility of Telangana. Brahmani, a youth icon, would be a perfect leader to re-launch the party, he feels. Will Brahmani bite the bullet? Will she openly work for the TDP? Will she come out from behind the curtains? Let’s wait and see.
