AAP MLA blocks NIA from probing shady NGO

Raising concerns about the deep links between some politicians and the anti-India lobby in Jammu and Kashmir, AAP MLA from Delhi, Amanatullah Khan has tried to disrupt the National Investigation Authority (NIA) raids on suspicious NGOs that were diverting funds to Kashmiri separatists.

He tried to stop the NIA from reaching the house of Delhi Minorities Commission’s former chairperson and AAP leader Zafarul Islam Khan in Jamia Nagar. Amanatullah and his supporters raised slogans. The police had to clear the mob and then undertake the searches.

The police searched the premises of Charity Alliance in Jamia Nagar, which is headed by Zafarul Islam Khan. The infamous Shaheen Bagh too falls in Amanatullah Khan’s constituency.

The NIA said that Zafarul’s organisation got funds from countries as far as East Timor and is accepting the funds without FCRA license. This is illegal. The funds then are finding their way to J and K’s Falah-e-Aam and other organisations.

The NIA has been conducting raids for the past two days on various organisations and individuals connected with fund swindling to help the separatist forces in J and K.
