Namitha moves Court to stay in Rented House

A city civil court today directed the house owner of actress Namitha not to harass her and granted an interim stay till January 12 restraining the owner from interfering in any manner with her stay at the portion of the house let out to her.

13th Assistant City Civil Court Judge G Shanti also issued notice to the house owner.

Namitha, who is also an AIADMK member and among the public speakers panel of the party, submitted that she was staying at a portion of a house let out to her by the owner in Nungambakkam area for a monthly rent of Rs 15,000.

Despite regular payment of rent, the house owner had threatened her to vacate the premises by December 31 last and had also sent e-mails to that effect, she submitted.

The actress alleged that the owner had once come to the the house with his henchmen, rowdies and agents and threatened her manager with “dire consequences” if she failed to vacate the premises.
